Cloud

Your server runs your show on its own.

It does, however, keep a connection to sndwrks cloud.

A heartbeat. Every so often the server checks in so we know it’s alive and when it last spoke to us.

Events. Entries from the Events log are queued and sent up in batches. If the link goes down they store locally until the cloud connection is restored.

A system snapshot. Periodic information about the server itself.

Database backups, if backup upload is enabled.

Device monitoring status, if that’s enabled.

The assistant’s model calls, if the Assistant is enabled.

The server takes its own backups on a schedule and, when backup upload is on, sends them up to us. This allows us to restore your show if you need it.

If you don’t want to wait for the next scheduled one, Settings → Backup & Restore → Backup to Server forces one right now.

Settings → Global shows a Subscription panel: a status light, a label, and the date your subscription will end.

The states:

StatusWhat it means
ActiveAll good. Nothing to do.
In grace periodThe subscription lapsed. Everything still runs; there’s time to sort it out.
Features disabledThe grace period ran out. Features are turned off.
Stopped (E-STOP)The server has engaged its own e-stop.
Clock problem — enforcement pausedThe server’s clock isn’t trustworthy, so it has stopped enforcing rather than acting on a bad date.
UnknownThe server hasn’t established a subscription state yet.

You don’t get surprised. As soon as the state leaves Active, a banner appears across the top of the app for everyone, with a live countdown to the next step:

  • In grace period — “renew within X to keep features running.”
  • Features disabled — features are off, and there’s a countdown to the automatic stop.
  • Stopped — the server has engaged the e-stop. Call us.

The e-stop engaged for this reason is not an operator e-stop. You can’t disengage it.

If the clock goes backwards or looks otherwise unreliable, enforcement pauses instead of acting on the wrong date. Check the server’s time and NTP settings, and maybe get in touch.
